Why are the USA and Israel scared from the bid to the UN?

Why are they scared from the PA declaring a state? The Palestinians have been waiting for two decades while negotiating and they got absolutely nothing! It would be stupid if the PA decides to negotiate again with Israel. After two decades of negotiations, now the 1967 borders are "indefensible" and Jerusalem is the "united jewish capital". What a joke! Arabs should've quit this nonsense long time ago. Should they stick with resistance at least settlers would've ran away like rats. Don't you think?
