Why are Jewish settlers in Israel violent?

Do you bother with learning the facts first hand or are you content with taking others' words? I have been to several Jewish settlements in the West Bank and checked into their land. Settlements were never permitted on demolished Palestinian neighborhoods. They never demolished any Palestinian neighborhoods. Settlements are almost always built on land that once belonged to Jordan and were not settled. Even when Jews owned the land prior to 1949, it is almost impossible for a Jew to evict an Arab who can prove that he lived there for more than 10 years. I have seen Arabs throwing stones at Jews but never saw Jews go on the offensive (but have seen Jews go on the defensive when needed). Judaism tends to be very non-violent and Jews tend to be very non-violent people. Jews also tolerate much more dissent than any other people in the near east do.
