What is Depleted Uranium and more...?

It's mostly U-238, the isotope that remains after U-235 is removed for use in nuclear weapons and fuel for nuclear plants. It has a much longer half life than U-235, so it isn't very radioactive, but the affects of long-term exposure, as in the military, are unknown. DU rounds are mostly used by 30mm cannon.
